Awards

High Point Awards are Calculated as Follows:

DRESSAGE: For dressage classes with 6 or more starters, points are 7-5-4-3-2-1 for 1st to 6th place respectively. For dressage classes with fewer than 6, 1st place points equal the number of starters plus 1, with points for lower places adjusted accordingly.

COMBINED TRAINING: For combined training classes with 6 or more starters, points are 7-5-4-3-2-1 for 1st to 6th place respectively. For combined training classes with fewer than 6, 1st place points equal the number of starters plus 1, with points for lower places adjusted accordingly. An additional point will be awarded for overall low score of the show.

MOVING UP LEVELS: Once a horse and rider combination move up to a higher level, only points from the higher level will be added to their points earned at the lower levels for the year. Horse and rider combinations may show at the lower level after moving up but will not accumulate further points toward High Point standings at the lower level for the current year or subsequent years.

Ties and Championship Classes

"A horse who puts on a show in the dressage ring and strives to get through cross country and only knocks down one rail in stadium is more deserving of a break when he gets home than the horse who got first... only because he's worked harder for that trip around the course."
